Bedminster Biomass is
a CO2 - Neutral
renewable fuel that qualifies for Carbon
Credits. Many countries throughout the world
have signed up to the Kyoto Protocol and have
introduced various forms of CO2 tax.
For example, in the
European Union each country has been issued
with reducing limits for annual
CO2 production through National
Allocation Plans. Individual countries have
then set specific and reducing limits to
industry, which result in penalties being
applied if not met.
Industry is therefore
faced with the options of either:
- reduced profits
through the acceptance of penalties;
- reducing output to
meet targets, which also reduces
profitability;
- meeting targets
through the purchase of
“credits” in the market
place;
- changing practices to
meet targets.
Given that more
shareholders are demanding annual
environmental reports as well as financial
ones, doing NOTHING is not an OPTION. The
carbon released to atmosphere during energy
production from Bedminster Biomass is
biogenic and is recycled as part of the
natural Carbon Cycle.
